STAR of the month – September 2024

Congratulations to Katie Yule, Community Nurse from the West Norwich community nursing team on being selected as the NCH&C ‘Star of the Month’

This is a very special accolade and the first of its kind at NCH&C.

Our Star of the Month award recognises the commitment and dedication of staff members who give a service that is over and above what is expected of them in order to make a difference to patients, visitors and/or their colleagues. They embody our values and behaviours and deserve a special thank you in recognition for going above and beyond.

Katie is standing beside Matthew outside. Behind them is a red brick building. Katie is holding her certificate. The bottom portion of the image displays a light blue background with the "Star of the Month" logo, including a yellow star illustration and cursive text. Below the logo, the recipient's name, "Madeline Thurston," is written in bold blue text, with "October 2024" displayed in black text to the right.

Katie was chosen for the special award after learning basic sign language in her own time to communicate with patients with hearing impairments and additional needs. Katie has also been sharing her new skill with colleagues in order to put our patients first.

CEO, Matthew Winn personally met with Katie to give a special certificate and voucher.

Matthew said: “I am really pleased that we now have a special award in place to be able to honour colleagues who have gone the extra mile and demonstrated the qualities shown her with Katie. Such a well deserved award for doing something amazing and putting our patients first.”

Each month, Matthew will select a Star of the Month from our Star of Recognition winners (formerly known as Badge of Recognition).

The new Star of the Month award forms part of NCH&C’s new Star Programme – our ‘sharing thanks and recognition’ scheme – which rewards outstanding internal achievements. We are currently putting the final touches on this and will be ready to launch shortly. More information to follow very soon!
