STAR of the month – November 2024

Congratulations to Nigel Lorkings, Community Therapy Assistant, from Norwich Place on being selected as the NCH&C November 'Star of the Month'

Our Star of the Month award recognises the commitment and dedication of staff members who give a service that is over and above what is expected of them in order to make a difference to patients, visitors and/or their colleagues. They embody our values and behaviours and deserve a special thank you in recognition for going above and beyond.

Nigel was chosen as our November STAR for consistently going above and beyond to deliver the very best care to patients and proving an invaluable member of the community therapy team in Norwich. Nigel was nominated for a STAR of recognition badge by Rachel Bull, who said: “Despite dealing with a personal health condition, Nigel is always the first in the office, always smiling and upbeat and always happy to help you with anything you need. He is incredibly creative and flexible with his time and his diary, ensuring that he can go on a joint visit with you if needed, even at short notice, to ensure good patient care.

“Nigel is always caring and respectful to patients and they love his friendly, approachable demeanour. Patients who may feel anxious and do not want to take part in therapy are usually laughing and joking and shaking his hand by the end of the session. Patients who may not have seen him for years always remember him by name.”

The new Star of the Month award forms part of NCH&C’s new Star Programme – our ‘sharing thanks and recognition’ scheme – which rewards outstanding internal achievements.
