Fond farewell to our Trust Chair, Geraldine

Farewell and thank you to Geraldine Broderick

Today we say a very fond farewell to Geraldine Broderick as our Trust Chair. Geraldine has been Chair of NCH&C for six years and will be greatly missed.

Geraldine has been responsible for leading the NCH&C Board and representing the interests of community patients, and the organisation, locally, regionally and nationally since June 2016.

As our Chair, Geraldine has gone above and beyond. We’re immensely grateful for her unwavering leadership and her genuine dedication to patients in Norfolk. Formidable and passionate, she has always been approachable and personable, dedicated to making time to meet staff and getting to know them and the services they deliver.

She has overseen many notable successes whilst in post as NCH&C Chair. A particular highlight being her role in us achieving the accolade in 2018 of becoming the first standalone community trust in the UK to gain an ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating.  Geraldine has also ensured that we have a diverse and experienced Board of Non-Executive Directors and committed to bringing the voice of our patients and staff into our Board meetings.

Geraldine, said: “I feel hugely privileged to have been Chair of NCH&C. There have been many highlights and achievements during my tenure, the greatest being the progression of collaborative working with system partners, and our determined commitment to putting patients, service users, families, and carers at the heart of our work. I’m immensely proud of NCH&C and everything its dedicated staff do for the people of Norfolk.”

Stephen Collman, CEO of NCH&C, said:  “I would like to wholeheartedly thank Geraldine for all she has done during her time at NCH&C. Geraldine has championed and challenged NCH&C over the years, helping us to make positive changes and improvements that ensured we remained focussed on our vision of looking after people locally. She absolutely thrives on being a highly visible leader who has lived and breathed the NCH&C values. I know many of our staff and partners will have met Geraldine during her time at the trust and will have fond memories of her visits.

The process of recruiting a new NCH&C Chair is underway. Graham Nice, Non-Executive Director at NCH&C, will act as Interim Chair until a new permanent Chair is appointed.
