STAR of the month – March 2025

Congratulations to Tom Bamford, Project Manager in the Communications & Marketing Team, on being selected as NCH&C 'March STAR of the Month'.

Congratulations to Tom Bamford, our March STAR of the Month winner. Tom is a Project Manager in our Communications & Marketing Team.

This award recognises the commitment and dedication of staff members who give a service that is over and above what is expected of them in order to make a difference to patients, visitors and/or their colleagues. They embody our values and behaviours and deserve a special thank you in recognition for going above and beyond.

Tom was chosen for the award after being nominated by Vicky Brooke, Associate Director of Communications, Marketing, and Engagement for his work with East Coast Community Healthcare (ECCH) on our joint Musculoskeletal (MSK) service.

EECH were struggling to produce a high volume of work with a very tight turnaround. They reached out to the NCH&C Communications and Marketing team for support and Tom stepped up to help. This was a great example of community and integrated working with our system partners to achieve a collective goal.

This was over and above Tom’s usual work, and he stepped in to produce high quality materials in a short timeframe. EECH were incredibly grateful and expressed their thanks for Tom’s support.

Tom received a special ‘STAR of the Month’ certificate and voucher from CEO, Matthew Winn.

Each month, CEO, Matthew Winn will select a Star of the Month from our STAR of Recognition winners. This award forms part of NCH&C’s new STAR Programme – our ‘sharing thanks and recognition’ scheme – which rewards outstanding internal achievements.
